If you've decided to become an Offline, there's a good chance nobody talked you out of it in time.

That isn't meant as an insult. Most of us arrived here for reasons that made perfect sense at the time. We were angry, convinced, stubborn, idealistic, or simply incapable of looking away from something we thought was wrong. The reasons vary. The result is usually the same. You spend enough years doing this work and eventually you realize you've traded the possibility of a normal life for a responsibility that never really ends.
